We are committed to reducing our impact on the earth. The foundation of SIDELINE has always been to make clothes that last as a reaction to the industry of throw-away fashion. ‘Made to last’ is the core of everything we do but we also thrive to be better than this, here are some other ways we work to be kinder to our planet..
Socially Responsible
We are a very small independent business but as part of our business model we take a conscious approach to helping the wider community via donation and special projects.
Last year we worked on a number of initiatives to donate to local and national charities. On two occasions we held samples sales and donated 10% of all money taken to Lewes Community Food Bank (our local food bank). We also produced a special item where we donated all profits to The Black Curriculum and For Refugee Women. When the war broke out in Ukraine we held a raffle which made nearly £8000 and was donated to International Medical Corps.
We will continue to develop this area of our business and donate to charity on a regular basis.
Ethical MANUFACTURe
SIDELINE prides itself on ethical and sustainable practices, prioritising ethical manufacturing, fair working conditions and living wages. Our top priority for choosing manufacturing partners is that worker rights are respected and protected. We only work with manufacturers who are responsible for creating beautiful and long-lasting garments.
CLOTHES THAT LAST
The core of what we do, from choosing a particular fabric to our look book photography, conveys a slower, gentle and considered pace of life. Our garments are designed to be timeless pieces realised in modern, easy silhouettes and always using quality fabrics to ensure they last.
We produce clothing in a sustainable way both socially and environmentally, never compomising on quality. We believed that neither sustainability nor quality has to be sacrificed in order to make beautiful garments that stand the test of time.
